wedge prism

Wedge Prism

Definition

Prisms having only a small angle (e.g. a few degrees) between the input and output surfaces are called wedge prisms

Wedge Shaped Prism is used to change the direction of light without changing other properties of light, such as wavelength, polarization state, etc.

The characteristic is that when light passes through the two right-angled surfaces of the prism, it will undergo total reflection twice, thus changing the propagation direction of the light.

Applications

Application fields such as laser technology, optical measurement, optical communications and optical instruments.

Material

Bote Optics can provide wedge prisms(wedge optics) made of calcium fluoride, silicon, zinc selenide and other materials.

Customization

Wedge prisms are available in stock and can be customized according to application requirements. Coating services are also available.

Zinc selenide wedge prism is used to turn the optical path or deflect the image formed . It is characterized by high light transmittance and good transmittance in the ultraviolet, visible and infrared fields.

It has low absorption rate and thermal shock resistance, and can maintain stable optical performance even in high temperature environments.

Used for imaging and beam deflection. It can be coated with reflective films, anti-reflective films, filter films, spectroscopic films, polarizing films and metallized films.

Bote has optical precision processing equipment and professional testing equipment, including ultra-precision diamond single-point turning, profilometer measurement and Analysis (Taylor Hobson), ZYGO planar/spherical interferometer, Fuji interferometer, spectrophotometer, eccentric meter, goniometer, etc.
