A half-penta prism is a special type of penta prism that is only half the length of a standard pentaprism, hence its name.
Semi-pentaprisms are usually used in some specific photography scenes, such as macro photography, underwater photography and other scenes that require special angles of observation.
In macro photography, since the object being photographed is very small, it is difficult for an ordinary pentaprism to reflect light into the photographer’s eyes.
The half pentaprism, due to this high degree of stillness, is able to adapt better, allowing the photographer to see the shooting scene clearly in the viewfinder.
